You’re ready for the easiest, most polished Throne compost toilet experience
The one we wish we had when we started

- Easy to clean – smooth surfaces with no nooks & crannies
- Built for full-time use – large capacity means fewer emptying cycles
- Backed by real experience – we’ve used a lot of compost toilets
- Options to customize – add extras, take out components you donโt need

Separation That Actually Works, Capacity to Keep You Going
Most compost toilet problems start with poor separation. We designed the Throne around getting this part right.
- The Throne diverter has the largest openings and deepest liquids bowl on the market, which reduces aiming issues and helps keep liquids where they belong
- The deep bowl design allows some users to pee standing, which is uncommon in compost toilets
- Better separation means less moisture in the solids, easier odor control, and slower fill rates
- Liquid Level Indicators notify you when the liquids jug is nearing full โ visual checks alone are unreliable once containers get coated with urine scale
- The 3-gallon liquids capacity is about 50% larger than many compost toilets, so you’re emptying less often and with more confidence
Easier to Clean Because There’s Less to Clean
Composting toilets don’t need complicated mechanisms to work well, and those parts usually make cleaning harder.
- No cranks, augers, or churning mechanisms
- Composting does not happen inside most compost toilets, so there’s no benefit to adding finicky moving parts
- Smooth surfaces and fewer nooks and crannies mean less buildup and faster cleaning
- Containers lift straight out for emptying and rinsing
The result is a toilet that’s easier to live with day to day, especially when maintenance isn’t perfect. And trust us, mess will find its way in there eventually.

Built for Regular Use, Not Just Occasional Weekends
The Throne is designed for people who use their toilet every day, not just a few nights a year.
- 6-gallon solids capacity means longer intervals between emptying
- Durable materials that hold up to repeated handling, cleaning, and transport
- Made in the USA
- Designed around full-time use, not minimum specs
Behind the product is a team with 50+ years of combined compost toilet experience, including years spent using DIY builds and competing brands. That experience shows up in the details and in the support available if you ever need help.
Size & Comfort
- The Throne is larger than many composting toilets by design. The added size means more capacity and fewer emptying cycles.
- It’s built for regular use, which is why it may take up more space than smaller, lightweight models.
- In very small spaces, the Throne works best when the layout is planned around it. If space is extremely tight, some folks choose to build a DIY Throne to customize the footprint.
- Some people prefer using a small foot stool for added comfort due to the seat height. We offer free plans if you want to build one.

Throne Deluxe vs. Throne Deluxe Mix & Match
Same toilet. Same performance. Two ways to buy.
Both options use the same molded plastic base and core components. They perform the same and are equally durable. The difference is only in how many decisions you want to make up front.

Throne Deluxe
Complete System
Throne Deluxe includes everything you need in one complete system. All of the components are selected for you, bundled together, and offered at the best overall value compared to buying components individually.
Choose Throne Deluxe if you:
- Want the simplest, most straightforward option
- Don’t want to think through individual components
- Plan to use all the core parts anyway
- Prefer to buy once and be done

Throne Deluxe Mix & Match
Flexible Setup
Same base, more control. Mix & Match uses the same molded plastic base and core components as Throne Deluxe, but lets you customize which additional parts are included. This option is about tailoring the system to your needs, not cutting corners.
Choose Mix & Match if you:
- Have a specific setup in mind
- Don’t need certain components (for example, plumbing liquids externally)
- Want to add extra liquids jugs and solids bins for emptying flexibility

Quick Questions Before You Buy
Will the Throne fit in my space?
The Throne is larger than some composting toilets by design, which allows for more capacity and less frequent emptying. It works well in RVs, cabins, boats, and off-grid bathrooms where the layout can be planned around it. If you’re working with a very tight footprint, we recommend checking the dimensions before purchasing.
How often do I need to empty it?
That depends on how many people are using it and how often, but the Throne is designed to go longer between emptying than smaller-capacity toilets. The 3-gallon liquids jug typically lasts 5โ7 days for 2 people. The 6-gallon solids bin typically lasts 6โ8 weeks for 2 people.
Does it smell?
When used as intended, odor isn’t part of the experience. Separating liquids from solids, using cover material, and optionally running the vent fan keep smells under control. Most people are surprised by how neutral the toilet is day to day.
Is installation complicated?
Installation is straightforward and typically takes anywhere from 5 minutes to 2 hours, depending on whether you install the vent fan. No plumbing is required, and all components are designed to lift out easily for access and cleaning.
Is the vent fan required?
No. The Throne works without a vent fan when liquids are properly separated and cover material is used correctly. That said, many people choose to add the vent fan because it removes odors during use and adds extra forgiveness if conditions aren’t perfect.
What if something breaks?
All Throne components are modular and replaceable, and our support team has decades of combined experience using composting toilets. If you ever need help or a replacement part, we’re here to support you.
Ready to Take a Seat?
You’ve seen how the Throne is designed for simple use, easy cleaning, and real-life capacity. If you’re ready for a polished, low-maintenance compost toilet that doesn’t turn every bathroom break into a project, the Throne Deluxe is ready when you are.
